I dont believe Bellmawr's ambulance is 100% volunteer anymore.
If you go to this page:
http://www.bellmawr.com/bellmawr_volunteer_ambulance.htm
"During the daytime hours a full-time crew of two EMTs is utilized, and volunteers respond in the evening, and early morning hours."
Having fulltimers during the day may make it easier to fill in the schedule in odd hours... (but still not easy) as you can focus the volunteer efforts to specific hours..
Plus... its prob a good motivation technique!!! Some of those bellmawr volunteers would prob love to be a full-timer.. so when that 1am call comes in, they may be more motivated to respond ! :-)
Lastly, the Pennant is located in Bellmawr.... even thou accident was on Brooklawn side...maybe when the 911 call came in they referenced Pennant, which made dispatchers call Bellmawr support.
Of course.. I prob got this all wrong, and i'll soon hear about it if so!

Is this why Bellmawr's ambulance transported the patient to the hospital? Was it because Brooklawn's ambulance could not answer the call? How many volunteers does Brooklawn's ambulance have?

Bill has Brooklawn right at the top of the article also as stated Brooklawn's Fire truck can be scene in the photo. Mt Ephraim has to be special called to the scene because Brooklawn Fire Co does not carry extrication tools to cut a car apart, they provide fire suppression and EMS.I hope this provides some needed information. Also Brooklawn Fire Company and Brooklawn EMS need volunteers if interested please stop by the station Tuesday nights after 7:00pm.Free training is provided.

I guess you didn't look at the picture to well...If you noticed the on front of the firetruck in the picture it says Brooklawn....It probably was just an oversite.

Just curious, I noticed Brooklawn Fire Department isn't listed. Were they called? or do they not handle these kinds of incidents?
