Alexander made public some numbers that show that the
nominations may not have been the least expensive options for the small
borough.
Siciliano, he said, proposed a retainer of $14,000 with
the addition of $150 per hour for non-covered services. That would
likely include arguing on the borough’s behalf in almost 200 expected
tax appeals from last year’s property reassessment – possibly as much
as $300,000, allowing for ten hours of work per appeal.
He compared
that to a proposal from former solicitor Albert Olizi, who asked for
$12,500 with the addition of $75 per hour for non-covered services.
