Ah, New Jersey lawmakers.  Even when they try to do some good, they can’t always get what they want.

Remember the much-celebrated double-dipping ban? You know the one, where lawmakers said that legislators could only have one elected post.

Unless of course, they were already in the Legislature as of Feb. 1 – conveniently a few weeks after the new class of lawmakers were sworn in?

Well, that ban worked so well that the Star Ledger tells us we actually have more double-dippers this year than last year – 19, as opposed to 17 when Corzine signed the law.
