NEWARK, Del. – Down 4-0, through three innings, the Rutgers baseball team rallied with five unanswered runs to earn a 5-4, come-from-behind victory over Delaware Tuesday afternoon at Bob Hannah Stadium for the Scarlet Knights' sixth victory in their last seven games.
Delaware's Josh Dean gave the Blue Hens their first hit with a single up the middle and Ryan Cuneo gave them their first runs with a two-run home run with two outs in the first. Chris Nehl then put Delaware up 3-0 with a leadoff home run over the left field wall in the second. Dean then reached on an infield error to leadoff the third and scored two plays later on a Ryan Reed bloop single to right field as the Blue Hens jumped out to the 4-0 early lead.
That was all Delaware (15-27) would score, as the Scarlet Knights (19-22-1) plated five unanswered runs to earn the come-from-behind victory.
