In the 1950s and ‘60s, the Japanese put out
a series of movies starring the monster Godzilla, who rampaged through
the Japanese cities, causing mayhem in his wake.
In New
Jersey, the Corzine administration has a monster of its own – the 800
percent toll hike plan. Like Godzilla, it has proven quite difficult to
kill. And, like the Japanese, it appears the Corzine administration
will soon be airing a sequel.
The Star Ledger
reports that Gov. Corzine is busy at work putting the final touches on
a new toll hike plan that will look to raise tolls to raise money for
road repairs, but apparently won't look to retire the debt. He hopes to
roll his plan out shortly after the state budget is completed, in mid-
to late-June.
