Letters: What is Happening to Our City?
Dear Bill and Gloucester City Mayor and Council
What is the ordinance on dog barking? Or noise in general at night?
I like to see an article on neighbor etiquette with a focus on being considerate after a certain hour with music and/or dogs barking; some people in our City have a serious lack of respect for the people in their neighborhood.
What is the law regarding RV's being stored in a back yard? I think they can only be there for so long and I will assume that someone cannot live or party in one on a nightly basis?
I live on Powell street and there is a house with an RV in the back yard and I have watched people partying/living out of an RV in their back yard for about a week?
Signed What is Happening to our City?

Heres a good question how do we get neighbors out of Gloucester City who do nothing but bother other people in the town??? Ones who call the cops on everyone for absolutely nothing and wasting our state money to pay those officers for attending to them for no apparent reason (oh wait because they need attention from ones who will listen). It gets alittle out of control when you see officers at the same house 7 times in one day...come on now Gloucester City do something about this nonsense...

Hey here's an idea go knock on the door and tell them to quiet down. If your just going to sit back and deal with it then it will continue.

Dear Mayor James and Council Members,
We elected you to change things. All you seem to be doing is raising taxes and the same old bs. You promised new ways and all we get are the same old people. Maybe we wouldn't be in this mess if like you promised they were held accountable. For once don't listen to the club and get a real City Admin. Not Paul Kain, he is a joke. Hey Bob Bevan already does his job. He has to babysit Paul, make the change. At least Mr. Bevan talks to all the people and treats them with fairness unlike Paul Kain does. Do the right thing, don't worry about Paul's feelings worry about our city and I can tell you Paul KAIN is not there for the city.
-PLEASE DO THE RIGHT TIHNG, you have given Mr.Kain too long, and he's still doing the same shit. FIRE HIM, he is not qualifiied for the job. JW, Nick what is your opinion on this, your the finance chair is Paul being accountable with city money?

Harry ~ I understand that you must put up with a certain amount of neighbor baggage BUT I don't think that allowing your dog to bark into the morning hours is really acceptable. It's easy to pass judgment when your not in the situation. But imagine a yelping dog from about 9:00 to 1 or 2:00 in the morning? And since its spring your windows are open! And is that really fair to the dog?
And for the record...I agree that the ordinances should be online. We have a city website which we do NOT use to its full capacity. Maybe they are afraid they will have to start enforcing some of the laws then?

Harry
Come on get real. Paul is making the big bucks for doing what the CLUB tells him to do. They need to teach Bevan to type. Paul is on a free ride because he knows more than his bosses. If you mess with him the whole family may retire and subject the town to the competence of the winners of the elections. Then where would we be?

You could contact the Housing Department, they should be able to tell you. Animals, you should try contacting the Board of Health, I think they deal with that.
