A week after a 16-year-old reported four males raped her inside South Philadelphia High School, detectives are still piecing together what happened. No arrests had been made as of yesterday and the District Attorney's Office was reviewing the case to determine whether or not charges would be filed, Special Victims Unit Lt. Tom McDevitt said.
Part of the police probe is to determine if there was any consent involved in the incident.
At about 1:35 p.m. last Thursday, the girl was inside the auditorium when she said fellow students grabbed her and pulled her into a storage room, where they sexually assaulted her, Lt. Frank Vanore of the Police Public Affairs Unit said.
A teacher's assistant conducting a building check observed the partially clad female inside the storage area and spotted the male teens run past him out of the auditorium, Vanore said, adding the employee tried to stop them.
The victim was taken to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.
