TCNJ TRACK PERFORMS AT SWARTHMORE’S LAST CHANCE MEET; HERRICK SETS TCNJ SCHOOL RECORD
Swarthmore, PA… The College of New Jersey’s men’s and women’s outdoor track and field team competed on Tuesday night at the Swarthmore College Last Chance Meet. The Lions produced an NCAA automatic qualifying time at the meet, a school record and four NCAA provisional marks at the meet.
Women’s Highlights…
TCNJ’s junior Stephanie Herrick (Wayne,
NJ/Wayne Valley) produced an NCAA automatic qualifying time and broke the Lions’
school record as she posted a fourth place finish in the 800 meter run with her
time of 2:08.6. Also posting NCAA provisional marks in the race were sophomore
Jianna Spadaccini (Butler, NJ/Butler) with her 2:11.82, while freshman Meryl
Wimberly (Farmingdale, NJ/Colts Neck) also had a provisional time as she posted
a 2:13.15 in the race.
In the 100 meter high hurdles, sophomore Priscilla Senyah (Sayreville, NJ/Sayreville War Memorial) had an NCAA provisional time of 14.97. In the 1,500 meter run, junior Justine Carnevale (Oceanport, NJ/Shore Regional) and sophomore Michelle Wallace (Emerson, NJ/Emerson) had personal best and ECAC worthy times of 4.49.70 and 4.52.10, respectively.
Men’s
Highlights…
Freshman Kyle Gilroy (Oak Ridge, NJ/West Milford Twp.) added an
NCAA provisional effort in the 400 meter high hurdles as he took third in 54.34.
In the men’s 5,000 meter run, rookie TJ Bocchino (Toms River, NJ/Toms River
East) posted an ECAC qualifying time of 15:03.14 to add to his season
accomplishments.
