Group Wants Public to Boycott TV Show

NCPPRPressReleaseHeader

In light of the ABC World News program's decision to host a "Town Hall" meeting on health care at the White House without opposition participation, the National Center for Public Policy Research is making a list of ABC World News sponsors available online for those who wish to boycott sponsors or/or send a letter of protest to them.
The list of sponsors includes sponsors from the June 18, 2009 program - the date ABC announced the White House-based program would take place - to the present and beyond, and is available at

The $114 Billion Rusty Lawn Mower; the Dog That Didn't Bark

www.businessandmedia.org

To do this magical deal, Obama had to commit massive financial fraud (by lying to us and GM stockholders about the company’s certain bankruptcy while engineering it), trash federal bankruptcy law, conspire to steal bondholders’ property and rights (making it insane for anyone to invest in any corporate bonds), create ownership nearly for free for the UAW, and extort the nation of Canada.

He did this all in the name of saving jobs – while the result is, in fact, massive job losses, closure of thousands of small businesses (car dealerships) and by domino effect, thousands more. Well, Obama never claimed to be a capitalist, now, did he?

The Lasting Legacy of George W. Bush:

At or near the end of George W. Bush's Presidency, the combined total of America's debt (about $11 trillion) and unfunded obligations (about $42 trillion) was around $53 trillion:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_public_debt
At or near the end of George W. Bush's Presidency, the combined net worth of all U.S. households was only $51.5 trillion:
http://www.ritholtz.com/blog/2009/03/us-household-net-worth-falls-18/
This means that as of the end of George W. Bush's Presidency, if everyone in America sold off everything we owned and applied every penny to America's obligations, we would all be homeless, penniless, starving, and still in debt to the Chinese, et al., for at least $1.5 trillion.
May Our Children Forgive Us ... and May God Help Our Grandchildren.

California Public School District Will Force All First Graders to Follow Curriculum That Normalizes Same-Sex Unions

(CNSNews.com) – The Alameda, Calif., public schools are adopting a curriculum that will require first graders to read literature that equates same-sex unions with a family made up of a mother, father and child.
Parents will not be allowed to opt their first graders out of the curriculum.
Members of the Alameda United School District (AUSD) school board voted 3 to 2 last week to implement the “Safe Schools” curriculum, which supporters say is aimed at stopping anti-homosexual bullying in schools.

Romney Endorses Former US Attorney Chris Christie

Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, honorary chairman of the Free and Strong America PAC, today endorsed former U.S. Attorney Chris Christie for governor of New Jersey.

Romney praised Christie’s conservative values, his commitment to bringing jobs back to New Jersey and his promise to restore fiscal balance by reigning in out-of-control spending.

“I’m convinced the challenges facing New Jersey and the rest of the country can be overcome with courageous leadership. Chris Christie is a strong conservative voice for balanced budgets, low taxes and more jobs. He will bring badly-needed change to state government,” said Romney.

“By electing Chris Christie, the people of New Jersey will be taking a giant step toward a brighter and more prosperous future,” Romney added.

The Free and Strong America PAC supports officeholders and candidates who are dedicated to advancing social, fiscal and foreign policies that will strengthen America. The guiding focus is on the core principles that have built and nurtured America since its founding – uncompromised military strength, an emphasis on strong families, a federalist approach to government that leaves decision-making as close to the people as possible and a belief in the power of free markets and that a competitive America is one where taxes are low and government is small.

Information on Faulkner Act (Council-Manager)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Faulkner Act, or Optional Municipal Charter Law, provides for New Jersey municipalities to adopt a Council-Manager government.

The council consists of 5, 7, or 9 members elected by the public. One of the councilors — chosen either by at-large election or by a vote among the councilors — serves as the mayor, who is merely the head of council and has no special privileges such as veto power. The council hires a manager, who serves as the chief executive and administrative official. The manager prepares the budget, appoints and removes department heads, and attends council meetings, but does not have a vote.

As in all Faulkner Act municipalities, citizens in the Council-Manager system enjoy the right of initiative and referendum, meaning that proposed ordinances can be introduced directly by the people without action by the local governing body. This right is exercised by preparing a conforming petition signed by 10% of the registered voters who turned out in the last general election in an odd-numbered year. Once the petition is submitted, the local governing body can vote to pass the requested ordinance, and if they refuse, it is then submitted directly to the voters.

I Wonder What Gore Thinks About Obama’s Faith?

http://www.alainsnewsletter.com

221-lg A few years ago I wrote about Al Gore’s criticism of George W. Bush’s faith. I found it so fascinating then that a former Vice President of the United States would condemn a current President’s religious belief. I find it almost as fascinating today that the still very vocal VP hasn’t remarked on the current President’s religion at all.

Energy Efficient Buildings Could Save More than $500 Billion by 2030 and Cut Global Warming Emissions by a Third by 2050

Trenton - A comprehensive plan to make our nation’s buildings more efficient by 2030 could save enough energy to power all of our nation’s cars, homes and businesses for a year and a half while saving Americans more than $500 billion, according to a new report by Environment New Jersey. By renovating old buildings and ensuring that new ones use 50 percent less energy within ten years and generate as much energy as they use by 2030, we can cut U.S. global warming emissions by at least 34 percent by 2050.

“Bold action to improve the efficiency of our nation’s buildings would go a long way toward meeting America’s energy challenges and stopping global warming,” said Matt Elliott of Environment New Jersey. “And we create local jobs and save Americans money by doing so. But, we must act now.”
