A Good Idea For Gloucester City's Riverfront! ...How About A Nine-Hole Golf Course?

Editor's Note: We first published this article in September 2020. Former mayor Bob Bevan wrote a Letter to the Editor recently suggesting a similar proposal for the Southport area in Gloucester City. For anyone who might have thought Bevan's idea was far-fetched, you might want to read this article; you'll find there are communities across the country that are thinking the same as the former mayor. LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: We Can't-Wait Any Longer, The Future Is Now! (CNBNEWS)-ST. LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: We Can't Wait Any Longer, The Future Is Now!

The map above shows the Southport area which extends south along Water Street and runs parallel with the Delaware River. That area consists of 145 acres. Looking back at the development of Southport, the most logical and most economical use of the property is to cap it and put in a “Links |Golf Course: with a nature trail along the river. Some of the reasons for this plan are: Shortage of golf courses in areas of Philadelphia and South Jersey. (Remember, we are closer to Philadelphia than most of Philadelphia. A study shows that outside recreation is needed by our... Read more →

Letters to the Editor: Introducing the States Reform Act

This week, we introduced one of the most anticipated pieces of legislation addressing cannabis reform at the federal level. CNBC has called it “passable,” and it’s been endorsed by Republican and Democrat groups around the country just in its first few days. On Monday, we introduced the States Reform Act, a bill seeking to end the criminalization of cannabis in the U.S. in a manner consistent with the rights of states to determine what level of cannabis reform each state wants to regulate, or not. For example. South Carolina permits hemp and CBD, Florida has medical, other states have adult... Read more →

Letters to the Editor: Residents of Gloucester City, Have we had enough yet?

November, 11th 2021 Gloucester City Republican Committee Residents of Gloucester City, Have we had enough yet? A $10.5M lawsuit against the taxpayers of Gloucester City was just revealed in an article published by William Cleary Sr. of CNBNews on Wednesday. This is unacceptable for the taxpayers of Gloucester City. We have seen increase after increase, and have witnessed little to nothing for our hard-earned money spent. The failures of the leadership of our city are apparent. This is not directed at all, as some have only recently entered the job and this is an issue decades in the making. We... Read more →

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Thoughts on Recent Local Election

High number of mail-in ballots by the Democrats. First election in a decade that we had opposing candidates for council at large. Results show that people are not happy with the direction the city and country is heading. Strong Democrat towns are switching to Republican candidates….they don’t like their policy of tax and spend. They don’t like big government mandates that interfere with their individual freedoms. People don’t like the Democrat vision of teaching our children about how the white people are all racists in their treatment of minorities and trying to divide us instead of unite us. All three... Letters to the Editor: Pres. Biden's Build Back Better Plan

Dear New Jerseyan, Nine years ago, our region was devastated by superstorm Sandy. Across New Jersey, we saw power outages, flooding, and the tragic loss of 43 precious lives. The strength and destruction of this storm was unprecedented for our area. Unfortunately, it has become clear that it was also one of many disasters we were beginning to see across the country — hurricanes, blizzards, droughts, wildfires — made worse by the effects of climate change. This week, President Biden unveiled a framework for his Build Back Better agenda that includes the largest investment in history to combat the worsening... Read more →

We are thrilled to be starting the week with great, great news: This weekend, The Wall Street Journal featured our city in a major travel piece that showcases notable Philadelphians, including Rob McElhenney of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia fame, and their favorite spots to eat and explore. The article, read by affluent consumers who are traveling closer to home, says that our "historic heavyweight of a city is a booming cultural and culinary destination, too." Our greatest industry successes are always the result of collaboration, and this piece is no exception. We worked with the Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia... Read more →

GUEST OPINION: GOVERNOR CUOMO YOUR TIME IS UP!

Bill Donohue | The Catholic League “Mario Cuomo showed me the benefits of being an irritable, thin-skinned and dismissive person. He showed me that arrogance ultimately works.” That is what Mario’s son, Andrew, said about him in 2002. Ironically, the arrogance that he acquired from his father was ultimately his demise. The Cuomos will do anything to win and stay in power. When Mario ran for mayor of New York City in 1977 against Ed Koch, posters appeared all over Queens, saying, “Vote for Cuomo, not the homo.” Cuomo’s gay bashing didn’t end there. He accused Koch of endorsing the... Read more →

The first is that unlike many areas of Gloucester City that are littered with trash of all kinds you see no litter at all in Pitman during this 9 minute tour. The other is community pride. The video reveals the business owners and residents in Pitman are particular about the appearances of their property. But not... Read more →

How did a bunch of little things turn into a “BIG THING” in our community?

Hanging flower baskets on Monmouth Street are still hanging with dead flowers for the past 5 weeks. Welcome to Gloucester signs are not maintained sending a negative message to people coming into our town. Litter laws have to be enforced in parking lots of retail stores especially on Broadway. Every year the city has to be reminded to hang the Betsy Ross Flags along our Riverfront Park. This is not done yet in 2021. Op-Ed: Death Penalty Bedevils Biden

Joe Biden signed a crime bill that added dozens of additional offenses to the list of crimes punishable by death. Two years ago, while campaigning for president in New Hampshire, he complimented its citizens, saying, "By the way, congratulations to ya'll ending the death penalty here." Letter to Editor: The Babylon Bee Demands a Retraction from The New York Times

Last week, our counsel sent a letter to The New York Times demanding a retraction. We did this because their article was—and remains—defamatory. Here's a direct link to read the demand letter. And here's the story behind it: In a recent article about Facebook's difficulty in dealing with satire, The New York Times pointed to The Babylon Bee as an example of a "far-right misinformation site" that "sometimes trafficked in misinformation under the guise of satire." They said we dishonestly "claim" to be satire to protect our presence on Facebook and other social media sites. This is false and defamatory.... Read more →

Letters to the Editor: Remembering The Men in Blue

One of the 22,611 names on the Memorial is Aaron Allan. On the morning of July 27, 2017, he and his wife Stacy put their son on the bus for his first day of kindergarten. Then Aaron went to work, where he responded to a single-car accident. When he crawled into the vehicle to help the passengers, he was shot 11 times. Stacy and her son came to DC to visit the Memorial and see Aaron’s name engraved on the Memorial. Stacy was overwhelmed to see the love of her life memorialized in stone. Letter to the Editor: Stops Signs Popped Up Overnight Without A Warning

Guest Opinion: Vatican Slams The Door On Gay Unions

Bill Donohue |CNBNews Contributor March 15, 2021 Catholic League president Bill Donohue comments on a Vatican statement issued March 15 that is sure to be controversial: There will be no recognition of homosexual unions or marriage by the Catholic Church. It is non-negotiable. End of story. Pope Francis has been under considerable pressure by gay activists, in and out of the Church, to give the green light to gay marriage. Letter to the Editor: Senator Booker Explains American Rescue Plan Benefits

Dear New Jerseyan, This past week, President Biden signed into law the American Rescue Plan, delivering on his and Congressional Democrats’ promise to provide COVID-19 relief to the American people. BABYLON BEE Op-Ed :

This Adorable Picture Of Biden Picking Up His Dog's Poop Is Exactly What We Need Now

This morning as I stood on the White House lawn, it all finally started to sink in. He's gone, I thought. He's really gone... The long nightmare is over. Democracy is back. I had my press pass back, too. Back in March of 2020, Donald Trump ripped my press pass away from me, struggled to rip it in half, (he failed miserably,) and then tossed it to a staffer who never gave it back to me. All I had done was ask him a simple question about why he wanted transgender people to die. But those painful memories are past--... Read more →

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: How this Democrat converted into a hardcore liberty warrior

BILL DONOHUE: Free Speech Under Attack

Bill Donohue | CNBNews Contributor Catholic League president Bill Donohue comments on the latest attacks on freedom of speech: The censoring of Parler by Amazon, Google and Apple is the most serious assault on freedom of speech we have ever seen by private companies in American history. Instead of addressing those who are responsible for abusing their free speech rights, e.g. those who are clearly fomenting violence, Big Tech is now seeking to censor conservative voices in general. For justification, they are following the lead of pundits and activists who are blaming President Trump, and his supporters, for the violence... Read more →

NRA-ILA NEWS: Biden to Nominate Anti- 2ND-Amendment Judge Garland for AG

NRA-ILA--At a news conference on January 7th, President-elect Joe Biden announced he will nominate U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit Judge Merrick Garland for Attorney General. Biden’s choice of a noted Second Amendment opponent to lead the Department of Justice is an overt assault on gun rights and gun owners. Following the death of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia in February 2013, President Barack Obama nominated Garland as Justice Scalia’s replacement. With an understanding of Garland’s unacceptable jurisprudence, NRA strongly opposed Garland’s nomination and the Senate wisely chose not to consider the nomination. Garland’s anti-Second... OP-ED: The International Spread of QAnon

Thank Goodness Online Education is an Option...

Where would we be in this pandemic without the option of online education? College students would have their graduation pushed back because they weren't earning any credits.
